A man reportedly abducted a four-year-old boy from a Liverpool high street who was out shopping with his mother.

Police received reports that the boy was grabbed after he and his mother were accosted outside Top Class Shoe Repairs on Walton Vale Road on Tuesday, May 10 at around 12:45 p.m.

The mother alleges the suspect then drove the four-year-old girl across the street.

She told officers she followed the man and grabbed her son before heading to a nearby store.

The stranger, described as an Asian man in his early 30s, around 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a stocky build, then walked in the direction of an Icelandic supermarket, towards Rice Lane, which is 43 yards from where he kidnapped the boy in Top Class Shoe Repairs.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them for more information, while the mother posted a warning on Facebook.
