Some of Donegal’s most popular hotels and residences have earned coveted spots on Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice lists for 2022.
The leading travel review site has revealed the best hotels on the planet for this year’s vacation.
And Ireland’s lists include some of the best summer stays in Donegal.
The River House in Dungloe (pictured above) was ranked third on the list of Ireland’s Best B&Bs and Inns. The multifaceted accommodations are designed for guests to get the best of the Wild Atlantic Way.
Harvey’s Point, on the outskirts of Donegal Town, was ranked 19th on the list of the best hotels in Ireland. Harvey’s, a favorite of couples, also came in second place on the list of the most romantic hotels in Ireland.
Lough Eske Castle also made the list of best romantic stays at number 7. The five-star hotel was ranked number 20 in the list of the 25 best luxury hotels in Ireland.
The Old Weir Lodge in Killarney took this year’s title for best hotel and the award for best B&B went to Sheedy’s in Doolin.
The TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards are based on traveler reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor throughout 2021. Despite another year of ups and downs, people continued to vacation around the world, riding a post-pandemic travel renaissance driven by high vaccination rates. With millions listed on Tripadvisor worldwide, only the cream of the crop (less than 1%) receives the Best of the Best award.
