Easter 2022 supermarket opening times for Dunnes, Tesco, SuperValu, Aldi, Lidl and Woodies in Cork this weekend

Ahead of Easter weekend, Leeside supermarkets have changed their opening and closing times, with a few adjustments to note.

From Thursday April 14 to Monday April 18, retailers such as Dunnes, Tesco, SuperValu, Lidl, B&Q and Aldi will adjust their opening hours.

If you don’t have your roast dinner by Easter Sunday, or still need to buy another chocolate egg, here’s all you need to know about opening times in Cork this weekend.

Dunnes Stores

Leading up to Easter weekend, Dunnes stores across the county will have slightly different opening hours.

Each business will have reduced hours, however these may vary by location.

The Bishopstown Court branch will open at 7 am on April 14 and close at 11 pm This is the same for Good Friday, with the store closing two hours earlier at 9 pm on Saturday April 16.

The store will not be open on Easter Sunday at all. Dunnes in Bishopstown will reopen at 9 a.m. on April 18 and close at 9 p.m.

Store hours will vary depending on store location, with most closed on Easter Sunday.

Customers are encouraged to use the Dunnes Store Locator to find out when their local store is open.


Tesco stores across the country will open and close at different times this weekend.

On Sundays, shops typically open at 8am and close around 7pm, depending on location. During the week, they are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Tesco in Mahon Point will open at 8am and close at 10pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, while it will open at 10am and close at 8pm on Sunday. The opening hours for Easter Monday will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

To avoid missing out, customers should use Tesco’s online store locator to check the opening hours of their local store.

Easter opening hours for each SuperValu store will vary.

Some stores will be open earlier than others over the weekend, so it’s best to take a look at their website, where there is a store locator with opening hours and phone numbers for each location.


Aldi’s opening hours have not changed this week, with stores opening at 9am from April 11-18.

Closing times, on the other hand, vary. On April 14 and 15, the stores will close at 10:00 p.m., and on April 16 and 18 at 9:00 p.m.

The very busy Aldi stores in Togher and Ballincollig will adhere to the above opening hours.

“Don’t forget that many stores have different opening and closing times for the Easter bank holiday,” said a message on its website.

“Double check the signs at your local store, as store opening hours may vary by location.”

On Easter Sunday, Aldi will be closed.


From April 15 to 18, there will be many adjustments to Lidl’s opening hours across the country.

Stores across the country will open at 8 a.m. on Good Friday and close at 10 p.m. on Holy Saturday.

According to its website, Lidl will be closed all day on Easter Sunday.

They will reopen at 9am on Easter Monday and close at 9pm


Woodies in Turner’s Cross and Blackpool will have extended opening hours despite the Bank Holiday weekend.

Its Easter schedule is as follows:

Friday: 9:00 – 21:00

Saturday: 9:00 – 19:00

Sunday: 10:00 – 18:00

Holiday Monday: 10:00 – 18:00


B&Q in Mahon Retail Park has not detailed whether its store will change its opening hours over the Easter weekend.

Its normal opening hours are as follows:

Monday – Saturday 8am – 8pm

Sunday – 10am – 6pm
